The contract will enable the UDOT to view next-generation MPEG-2 video from secluded vigilance cameras linked to VBrick's Security, Surveillance and Monitoring (VBSSM) instrument across its EASI IP data platform to its Traffic Operations Center, over its existing web infrastructure.
"As with several fresh state DOTs, the decision by the Utah DOT to deploy VBrick intelligent web appliances underscores our leadership in supplying regulation agencies with simple and affordable solutions to help increase safety and refuge," said Joe Chordas, Director of international Inside Sales for VBrick Systems. "The television streams, broadcast from the VBrick VBSSM, match the endowment of DVD video when viewed from any PC desktop or television consecutive to a set-top box on the web."
The VBrick solution brings innocence and top-notch application standards to the urgent end-points of the UDOT's EASI IP MPEG-2 video, audio and data networking platform. VBrick's appliances are deployed at each remote camera site and linked to the high-capacity IP network. The encoded video stream is then multicast throughout the maze to any desktop and viewed as high-quality 30-frame-per second full-screen video.
"UDOT will be using VBrick devices to achieve our goal of transitioning to a digital environment, incorporating digital video over an IP multicast structure," said Sam Sherman, ITS & CVO Engineer.
VBricks are currently being used for traffic monitoring by DOT departments across the country, from New York to California, and internationally in South Korea and Taiwan.
