Nikon has now a set of partial filters (SJ-1, Cat. No, 4764) which fits the SB-80DX and the SB-800 electronic flashes.

The new i-TTL flash technology of the latest Nikon cameras (the D70, D2x, and the F6) is wholly compatible only with the SB-800 and SB-600 flashes. Older flash units must be used in either the auto or the manual mode. accordingly, the macro flashes SB-21 and the SB-29 cannot be used in the TTL procedure with the latest Nikon cameras. This is one of the reasons why the digital D70 Nikon camera has complemented but not replaced my trusty F100 film cameras.
